Biography
V. häradshövding, rådman, magistratssekreterare. Mayor of Kalmar. Father of Swedish prime minister Oscar von Sydow. Henrik von Sydow passed away form a stroke in July 1876, two weeks before the birth of his youngest child. His wife passed away a week after the birth. Following their deaths, the younger children were raised as foster children in different locations: Ernst in Sundsvall and Stockholm, Gerda in Stockholm, Sigrid in Algustorp, Oscar in Östersund, and Maria in Ljungby.
